St. Joseph is described by Pope Francis as “a beloved father, a tender and loving father, an obedient father, an accepting father; a father who is creatively courageous, a working father, a father in the shadows” and has proclaimed December 8, 2020 to December 8, 2021 to be the “Year of St. Joseph”. (For information about the proclamation by Pope Francis visit

As a part of this year, St. Paul Catholic Church is offering a study on the book “Consecration to St. Joseph: The Wonders of Our Spiritual Father” by Donald H. Calloway, MIC. The study will begin on February 15, 2021 and end on March 19, the Solemnity of St. Joseph. Participants are encouraged to read daily from the book and we will offer reflections and/or daily challenges based on the day’s reading on our Facebook page and website. We encourage families to do this study together as a way to invite discussion about the book and help us all to more clearly see the importance of “ordinary” people who, though far from the limelight, exercise patience and offer hope every day, like St. Joseph. Those interested in participating in this virtual book study are encouraged to get their copy of the book before February 15. Some sources include:
